Fakhri started her acting career in 2011 as a female lead role in Imtiaz Ali’s musical romantic drama titled Rockstar.
Fakri’s next release was opposite of John Abraham in Shoojit Sircar’s political movie titled Madras Cafe in 2013. In the same year she starred in the action comedy Phata Poster Nikhla Hero in order to perform in the item number Dhating Naach with Shahid Kapoor as the leading actor of the film.
Next year, she collaborated with Varun Dhawan and Ileana D’Cruz for the romantic comedy Main Tera Hero which is a remake of the 2011 Telugu film Kandireega. The film was produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and directed by David Dhawan.
After that she worked in a popular movie named Kick with Salman Khan for Sajid Nadiadwala’s action thriller Kick. The song received positive reviews by critics and was a great success. In the same year she starred in Paul Feig’s action comedy movie Spy which was her first project in Hollywood.
In 2016, she worked in the Tamil film Saagasam in order to perform in the movie titled Desi Girl with the lead actor of the film Prashanth. The song can be described as a peppy bar number which was choreographed by Raju Sundaram. Fakhri next starred along with Emraan Hashmi and Prachi Desai in a biographical sports drama named Azhar. She also portrayed Sangeeta Bijlani who is an actress and also second wife of cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.
